Samurai Champloo starts out when a local governor abuses his powers in public. As luck would have it, an unusually skilled warrior with glasses, Jin, is able to easily take down the powerful bodyguards of the governor. Nearby at a local restaurant/teahouse, a vagabond, Mugen, causes some trouble to help a cute waitress. Jin appears and Mugen and Jin fight and cause the teahouse to collapse. Both of them are captured and Fuu offers to help them escape with a strange request. "Help me find a Samurai who smells like sunflowers"
