Shuro, in the world of Ayashi no Ceres, is a famous singer in the duet, GeSang. Shuro is a descendant of the Okinawa ten'nyo which is a celestial maiden from the heavens that made a descent to earth. Shuro poses as a guy all through his career in GeSang but begins to develop feelings for her partner, Kei (the other half of GeSang), but Kei dies before she is able to tell him. She feels guilty that she was not honest with him and herself and she transforms into a ten'nyo. She begins to sing which almost kills everyone in the area but the pain eases with Aya's help and Shuro agrees to help Aya search for Ceres' hagoromo (celestial robes). She finds out that her own robes that were said to be preserved for many years were fake and this angers her.
