Here is Greenwood

I bought Here is Greenwood because I read a promo in the back of one of my Ceres' books. I thought that the summary was good and maybe the book would be too. The book...was weird. This guy, Kazuya moves out of his house because his first crush married his brother and turned their home into a Honey Moon suite. Well, that's nice for Drama but then they throw in that Kazuya and his brother are orphans because their parents both died. Adding into the drama, Kazuya gets hit by a car and has a preforated stomach with an ulcer. More Drama? His roommate is a girl in an all guys dorm. Or is she? (This was the part that lost me for 15 minutes) Kazuya catches 'it' in the mens room and chases 'it' down, asking for an explaination. The head resident of the dorm, Mitsuru and the president of the Student Council, Shinobu always pull tricks on Kazuya. In one part he vows never to return home and then he goes home for winter break.

Could their possibly be anymore drama? (I got lost here too) His brother is the School Nurse at Kazuya's new school. It just *screams* W.T.F. Dude, if you want to get away from your brother, go to some other school. Idiot. The drawing isn't the greatest that I've seen, either. Kazuya looks ridculously immature and, for a main character, not hot at all. His eyes aren't very clear either. Everyone looks the same!! Except for Shun and Kazuya, everyone looks *EXACTLY* the same as another person. There's this person named Fujikake and he looks exactly like this other guy who is obsessed with Motorcycles. Mitsuru and Shinobu? Yeah, they look different from Fujikake but they look exactly the same. The drawing also made it difficult to understand anything that was going on, anyway. Not to mention that (this is Viz's fault) Alot of the text is cut off. Not just one or two words...like every few pages. Someone will be saying "Oh yeah!" and it'll cut off the 'O' and the 'Y' with half the 'E'.

In one part, Viz couldn't fit the text into the balloon. @.@ What also bothered me is that they treat the readers like their idiots. In this part that's about 1/3 of the way into the book they say "Don't worry, readers! Here is Greenwood is still here." Well, gee. You're not going to waste 2/3 of space writing about your life, are you? Please don't because I don't care. The author provided Names, Bloodtypes and Astro. Signs...I don't know why; maybe to help us webbie people out but these names didn't show up until we're 2/3 done with the book. All in All, the plot would have been awesome if they didn't have so much damn Drama in it. Too much Drama makes a story bad. I wasn't exactly pleased with this one...maybe it's because I'm used to hits from Yuu Watase, Naoko Takeuchi, Wataru Yoshizumi and CLAMP that this didn't appeal to me.

Will I buy the next book? Probably not unless it's dirt cheap at Otakon.
